There are a few changes to note from 2010:

1) The day for Creation Station is now Monday (the time 5:30- 6:45 remains the same)

2) Now requesting a RSVP - a quick phone call or email on Monday or earlier to Beth Spears at Progressive Pediatrics will ensure successful planning 

For those of you who haven't joined us yet, here is what it's all about:

Every Monday, Progressive Pediatric Developmental Center hosts the Creation Station. The Creation Station is a weekly therapeutic music and art program designed for children with Down syndrome. The session starts at 5:30 and last until 6:45. Sessions are open to children of all ages. Classes will be divided into developmentally appropriate groups each week.       

Attendance is FREE to DSAT members! Come every week, every other week, once a month or as your schedule permits. This is a great opportunity for our children to engage in activities designed to enhance:

·         Social skills (eye contact, greetings, turn taking)

·         Communication skills

·         Fine & gross motor movement through dance & instrument play

·         Vocalization & vocabulary through song & visual aids

·         Increased self esteem & self expression

Music and art is where it can all come together for a child. Given the chance, skills will emerge through creative activities that lead to other developmental milestones. DSAT is excited to partner with the professional staff and trained therapists at Progressive Pediatric Developmental Center to make the Creation Station a place where our kids can come and have the kind of fun that offers long-term benefits.

·         Art will focus on fine motor, hand-eye coordination, self-expression, communication, creativity and social skill

Note: First time attendees will be asked to fill out a registration/permission and release form
